Nexus R5 VCU Overview

The Nexus R5 is Haltech's flagship product, combining the functions of a power distribution module, data logger, dual-band controller and state-of-the-art engine management system into a single powerful device called the VCU (Vehicle Control Unit) .

Specs:

  • 4 25A (continuous) push-pull PWM outputs , compatible with frequencies up to 5 kHz (to power injectors, coils, transbrake, electric fan, fuel pump).
  • 12 high current 8A (continuous) outputs , low speed PWM (200 Hz) (power for sensors, nitrous oxide solenoids, etc.).
  • 18 peak/hold injector controllers , which can also function as low current outputs.
  • 12 low current turn-on outputs , also usable as low current outputs.
  • 8 low current PWM outputs (DPOs) .
  • 4 x 8A push-pull/H-bridge outputs , PWM compatible, ideal for electronic throttle controllers.
  • 23 0-5V analog inputs , with redundancy for electronic throttle and switchable 5V pull-up resistors.
  • Trigger and home inputs with adjustable thresholds, anti-interference filters and differential inputs.
  • 10 synchronous pulse inputs , with zero crossing or adjustable thresholds, usable for cam sensors, frequency inputs or 0-5V analog inputs.
  • 2 integrated broadband controllers , compatible with NTK and LSU4.9 sensors.
  • 3 CAN ports , with switchable termination.
