Haltech Elite 550 ECU Overview

The Haltech Elite 550 is a simple yet powerful ECU, ideal for 4- to 8-cylinder or 1- to 2-rotor engine applications. It is suitable for both naturally aspirated and forced induction engines, offering complete control over fuel delivery, ignition timing, and boost pressure levels.

    • Throttle Position Sensor (TPS),

    • Sequential, semi-sequential, batch or multipoint.

    • Multi-coil direct ignition, distributor ignition or Haltech CDI systems.

  • O2 Control - Closed Loop with Long-Term Learning:
    Allows for precise tuning of the air-fuel ratio (AFR). The optional external O2 CAN wide-probe controller kit improves tuning accuracy.

  • Boost Control:
    Closed-loop learning with user-defined axes, featuring six fully adjustable modes, including boost pressure control per gear, road speed, and more.

  • Flex Fuel Function (Direct Sensor Input):
    It allows you to adjust pressure boost, fuel mixture, and even ignition timing based on the ethanol content in the fuel, maximizing engine efficiency based on this parameter.

  • Low impedance injector control:
    It offers control over programmable peak and hold currents, improving injector management in high-performance applications.

  • Idle Speed Control:
    Closed loop to maintain a constant idle speed, requiring 1 or 2 user-defined outputs (BAC type).

  • On-board and laptop data logging:
    Allows you to record all available channels directly to your laptop's hard drive for real-time diagnostics and adjustments.

  • CAN Bus Communication:
    Compatible with Haltech displays, expansion devices, or OBDII to display live engine data and manage diagnostic trouble codes.

  • 2-stage injection for rotary engines:
    Ideal for rotary engine applications, providing precise injection control.

  • Resolution of the adjustment table:
    Up to 32 x 16, allowing detailed and flexible adjustment.

  • Unlimited flexibility in tuning:
    It allows you to tune your engine using a combination of 3D tuning tables, 3D cylinder offsets, and user-defined corrections, eliminating the need for dual mapping.

  • Cylinder fit correction (3D):
    Allows you to make specific adjustments per cylinder with 3D resolution.

  • O2 Broadband Connection:
    Up to 3 channels can be connected via CAN expansion devices for precise control of the air-fuel mixture.

  • Thermocouple / EGT (Exhaust Gas Temperature) Connection:
    Connect up to 12 channels via CAN expansion devices to monitor exhaust gas temperature.

  • Variable cam control:
    Independent control of up to 2 camshafts, with a minimum of 1 user-defined input and 1 output for each variable cam.
